--fuck-upstream
We patched it. We did not tell anyone.
The ricer has found a bug. The ricer has, against all odds, also fixed the bug, with a sed one-liner duct-taped into an ebuild overlay at 3am. Will the ricer send this upstream? The ricer will not. The ricer will instead post it to a forum thread titled "[SOLVED] (kinda)" and vanish.
"works on my machine, which is the only machine that has ever mattered"
Three years later a maintainer will independently rediscover the same fix, and the ricer will comment "old news, had this since 2004" without providing the diff. This is the circle of life.
